For some, business is driven purely to achieve success, both financially and commercially. However, for the late Dr. Frans Bambang Siswanto and his partner Prof. Anastasia Sulistyawati, true business success is defined by how work can enliven a community and bring meaningful benefits to many, especially the younger generation as they grow.
This value has been consistently passed down to their two daughters, Made Ariani Siswanto, affectionately known as Arie, and Nyoman Astari Siswanto, commonly known as Asta. Both Arie and Asta firmly believe that legacy is not merely a family inheritance handed down through generations, but a set of living values that continue to thrive, grow, and serve others.
This principle serves as the foundation for Arie and Asta in developing Nyanyi Bali. Located along the shores of Nyanyi Beach in Tabanan, the two sisters have developed an ecosystem that brings together education, hospitality, sustainability, gastronomy, and architecture, with a clear focus on embracing the future while safeguarding Bali’s identity.

Interestingly, while many ecosystems begin with rigid physical infrastructure, Arie and Asta chose to build this ecosystem by focusing on human capital development first. Education serves as a key pillar within Nyanyi Bali and marks the essential first step in nurturing high quality talent.
Under the auspices of the Bali International Training & Development Centre (BITDeC), Nyanyi Bali established the Bali Culinary Pastry School and Politeknik Internasional Bali. Both initiatives were created to equip Indonesia’s youth with international standard skills across culinary arts, hospitality, tourism, and sustainable development.

“We believe Bali’s greatest asset is not its beaches or resorts, but its people,” shared Arie.
For both Arie and Asta, education is also one of the most vital ways to preserve culture. By offering broader avenues to learn and gain experience within the global industry, they hope graduates gain not only professional competence, but also pride in the cultural roots they come from.
Growing Across Every Frontier
“With every step [in developing Nyanyi Bali], we always return to one question: will this create long term value for the community and future generations?” expressed Asta.
This question forms the bedrock for both Asta and Arie in shaping Nyanyi Bali. Beyond education, they brought this exact spirit into the gastronomy industry through the creation of KŌRO. This culinary destination was designed as a living classroom, a space where education and innovation intersect.
More than just a restaurant, KŌRO provides a professional venue for students of Bali Culinary Pastry School to train directly alongside seasoned industry leaders, master world class service standards, and understand the discipline behind the culinary craft. Everything students learn in the classroom is applied directly into industry practice.

Beyond practical training inside the kitchen, Arie and Asta also wanted to provide learning spaces outside of restaurants and kitchens. This led to the creation of the Valrhona Cocoa Forest, Valrhona’s first cocoa forest in Asia, established in collaboration with the French chocolate company Valrhona. This cocoa forest offers an opportunity to showcase Indonesian biodiversity, sustainable farming practices, and the comprehensive journey behind fine chocolate.
For Arie and Asta, KŌRO represents their shared commitment to nurture young talent and prove that investing in people yields lasting impact. Following education and gastronomy, Nyanyi Bali expanded into architecture with the introduction of N Residence.

N Residence embodies contemporary architectural design while honoring the surrounding landscape, cultural rhythm, and characteristics of the Island of the Gods. Both Arie and Asta emphasize that good design must strengthen the bond between people, community, and nature.
A Legacy Built to Grow and Inspire
Behind the continuous growth of Nyanyi Bali lies the steadfast commitment and leadership of two sisters dedicated to carrying forward their parents’ legacy. It reflects modern Balinese leadership: closely connected to the community, anchored in core values, and creating impact without seeking the spotlight.
Across every project and industry they step into, Nyanyi Bali flourishes as an interconnected ecosystem. From education that empowers youth to thrive, gastronomy that celebrates culture through food, and design that delivers meaningful living experiences, to sustainable development that harmonizes relationships with the community and the environment. All of this is done by Arie and Asta to ensure Bali continues to evolve without losing the values that make it extraordinary.
“As global attention on Bali grows, we hope the world sees this island not only for its natural beauty, but also for the people working quietly behind the scenes to safeguard its cultural identity,” Arie stated.
Throughout the development of Nyanyi Bali, Arie and Asta strive to bring their parents’ legacy to life through their leadership. Both view leadership as a way to allow inherited values to flourish, nurture new talent, and build places that will create a lasting impact for generations to come.
